The Cupid Prize...
is a genre literary award, presented by Micromance Magazine, celebrating excellence in Love Lit - genre romance, love stories, chick lit/women's fiction.
In Case You Didn't Know...
Micromance Magazine, founded in 2024, is the only lit mag dedicated 100% to romance and love stories. Its editor and founder, G. Lynn Brown, uses Micromance Magazine as a platform to promote Flash Romance and, more importantly, its talented writers.
Other genre flash fiction - horror, speculative, fantasy - has large followings, their own awards and prizes, and dozens of lit mags dedicated to their stories. G. Lynn is hoping to make flash romance just as prominent in the indie writing community and feels an award recognizing and appreciating both flash fiction writers who create beautiful love stories and romance authors who prefer short stories over novels is one way to encourage more creatives to delve into flash romance.
And Now About the Prize...
The Cupid Prize is an annual award originally intended to be an internal prize for contributors of Micromance Magazine only. But then, G. Lynn thought of all the beautiful love stories published by other journals and decided that it wouldn't be a true prize in Love Lit if all talent wasn't included.
The Cupid Prize is comprised of 6 categories, three of which are exclusive to contributors of Micromance Magazine:
- Sweet Nothings (75-100 words; contributor only)
- Quickies (101-500 words)
- Short and Sweet (501-1200 words)
- Series Romance (1201-3500 words; contributor only)
- Poetry (contributor only)
- Flash Romance (500-1200 words; non-contributor)
